Chicago Stars FC Transfers Forward Jameese Joseph to Utah Royals FC

September 07, 2026

Chicago Stars FC today announced that the club has transferred forward Jameese Joseph to Utah Royals FC for $750,000 in intra-league transfer funds through 2029, beginning with $300,000 in 2026 and conditional incremental opportunities.

"Jameese is an amazing person and we’re proud of her development during her time as a Star,” said Chicago Stars FC President Karen Leetzow. “Her rise from joining our club as a rookie to earning opportunities with the U.S. Women’s National Team has been inspiring, and we wish her success as she embarks on this new opportunity in Utah.”

“I’m very grateful to the Chicago Stars for their belief in me over the past several years,” said Joseph. “Chicago gave me the opportunity to make my dreams of being a professional athlete a reality, and this city, the fans, and everyone who has supported me has truly made an impact on my life. This farewell is bittersweet and I’m excited for this next chapter.”

Joseph was drafted by the Stars 15th overall in the second round of the 2024 NWSL draft. Joseph made her professional debut against Orlando Pride on March 29, 2024, and earned her first career start against Washington Spirit on May 1. The forward scored her first professional goal in Chicago’s 3-0 road victory over San Diego Wave on June 28, 2024. During her rookie season, Joseph totaled nine starts in 23 appearances for 1,038 minutes, notching two goals, two assists, 15 shots, nine created chances, 52 recoveries and 17 tackles won. Joseph also played the full 90 minutes and scored one goal in Chicago’s lone postseason match against Orlando Pride on November 8.

During the 2025 season, Joseph made 16 starts in 21 appearances in 1,398 minutes played. She set a new career high of four goals while adding two assists. So far during the 2026 campaign, Joseph has made 15 starts in 19 appearances for 1,293 minutes, recording her first goal of the season in Chicago’s recent win over Racing Louisville on August 23.

Internationally, Joseph has been a part of the U.S. Women’s National Team (USWNT) program since her first call-up to the U-14 U.S. Women’s Youth National Team camp in 2016. The Maryland native also earned a call up in 2022 to the May U-20 USWNT camp. Joseph was then selected to the U-23 USWNT camps during the April and October international windows in 2025, before earning her first senior USWNT callup in November that year. She made her senior USWNT debut on November 28, 2025, in a 3-0 win over Italy in a friendly played at Inter.Co Stadium in Orlando, Florida. In 2026, Joseph received a call-up for the January and April international windows. She scored her first international goal against Chile in a 5-0 victory on January 27, 2026.

The Chicago Stars will return to action on the road against Portland Thorns FC on Sept. 13. The team will then return home to face the Washington Spirit on Sept. 20 at 4 p.m. CT in Evanston, IL. Tickets for all Chicago Stars home matches are available at chicagostars.com/tickets.
